August 11, 2025
Since the engagement phase of the Cultural Review commenced in June, we have heard from hundreds of current and former members of the New South Wales Police Force, from all corners of the state. The insights you have shared will be invaluable for building our understanding and shaping our recommendations.
The workforce survey is now open
One of the most important ways we will gather data for the Cultural Review is through the workforce survey. We hope toreach as many members as possible to ensure our analysis reflects the breadth of experiences from across the organisation.
The survey is open from today until 5 September 2025. It will be administered by the Social Research Centre (SRC), a leading research institution affiliated with the Australian National University.
Current members will receive an email link from SRC, while former members can access the link via our website. The survey may take up to 30 minutes to complete, depending on your answers. You must complete the survey in one sitting.
Both SRC and the Cultural Review team are committed to upholding the privacy and confidentiality of participants. NSWPF will not receive information about who has participated in the survey, and individual responses will not be identifiable in reporting. To analyse the responses, SRC will de-identify your answers and combine them with answers from other respondents in your group. Aggregated results for small groups (under 30 respondents) will not be included in reporting, to ensure no individuals are identifiable.
If you have any technical issueswith accessing the survey, please email SRC at nswpolicereview@srcentre.com.au or call on 1800 023 040. Forfurther information about the includhow the information , please contact the Cultural Review team via info@nswpolicereview.com.au.
Site visits concluding in August
We are now approaching the end of our schedule of site visits, and we have been so appreciative of the experiences people have shared. The many individuals who have taken time to talk with us about their working lives within NSWPF have helped us build a deep understanding of the culture and what recommendations might support the organisation in the years ahead.
Over the last fortnight, the Cultural Review team has spent time in Campbelltown, Campsie, Macquarie Fields, Goulburn, the Academy, Broken Hill, Wilcannia, Dareton, Newcastle, Police Link and Tuggerah.
This week, we’ll be onsite in Dubbo and Orange, from 11 to 13 August. To round out our schedule of site visits, from 18 to 21 August, we will visit Blacktown, Mt Druitt, Northern Beaches, Bankstown, Burwood, Aviation Command and the Dog Squad.
You can still share your experiences via a written submission
During our site visits, we have spoken to as many people as possible, but we know there are some members who may not have had an opportunity to chat with us. If you’ve not yet had a chance to share your experiences, we invite you to make a written submission.
As with the survey, written submissions are being facilitated by SRC, and we will only use de-identified information from submissions to shape our findings and recommendations. Importantly, our final report will not identify anyone who makes a submission. The closing date for written submissions will be 30 September 2025. You can find out more about making a written submission via our website.
